I first saw the Dear Jane website about 4 years ago and fell in love with the quilt. At first, I thought that anyone who attempted to replicate it was a little bit crazy - there are over 5,000 pieces in the original quilt. The blocks are all 4.5" big when they've been sewn into the quilt top. On top of that, there are 52 pieced triangles, 52 plain triangles, 4 "kites" that go in the corners of the quilt, and to top it all off there is a beautiful scalloped border. Way to much work for me.. or so I thought. I kept going back to the Dear Jane site, and then found Janiac, saw that there were tons of people who not only attempted to re-create the beautiful quilt, but finished it (and it didn't take their entire lifetime!!). Soon thoughts of "I could do that too" crept into my head, but I kept putting off buying the book and software.
In June of 2010, my husband told me that he'd get me a special gift - anything I wanted - because he was so proud of me for losing 26 pounds. I thought about it for a month or so, and figured that I would begin my Dear Jane journey and continue on with my weight loss journey. I don't know how much weight I want to lose, but I'm so inspired to continue my journey with Jane Stickle and my weight loss. I'm not going to promise that I'll be a good blogger, but I'll try to keep everyone updated with my Jane progress and my weight loss progress. Please keep on visiting me!
